7: 40 AM. 43 degrees F this AM (that would be 6.1111C), gray (grey) and wet (misty).  Gosh, all this translating is slowing me down! Weather reporters are predicting snow by nightfall and some freezing blustery stuff moving in this weekend.

The airwaves are awash with all things 'Kennedy'.  . . . our memories taking us back so many decades, a half century at that, to a crazy day. JFK was just a man,  a politician, a father & husband, a US president who had found his way through some of the scariest times (eg Bay of Pigs), and was just getting started in his role as leader of the US.

Merce and I were just recalling our first reactions as we heard the news...both of us were in school. The stunned looks on the faces of teachers and students. The unbelievable news coming from our principal in somber tones over the PA.

Oatmeal almost ready..... 'big' sista is making it for 'little' sista.

Katie arrived at the Rochester airport this evening after a brief 35 minute flight over Lake Ontario. Too bad the sun had already set -- no views of the lake or the lakesides. We sisters took 20 minutes or more to connect at the airport, our paths crossing several times before contact!  After waiting outside, shivering in the cold, Katie went inside to take the escalator to the second level. Halfway up she thought she got a glimpse out the window of sister Merce passing in her car outside. Damn. Merce thought that lone person standing behind the post outside the airport doors, might be Kate but when she got there, no sister in sight.
Now we are snug and warm at home on the Ridge, watching 'Elementary', challenging each other -- who can stay awake through the whole show?? Merce has the advantage because Kate lost an hour traveling west to Fairport.
Yawn........
